Report of the No. 1 Fire Brigade Committee.

Rev. R. Richman1. The committee re-elected Mr. Alfred Mizen as chairman for the ensuing year.
2. The Committee beg to report that consent has been given by the Mitcham Common Conservators to the request of the Council to make a suitable approach over the Upper Green to the suggested site for Central Fire Station, and that negotiations have been entered into for the purchase of 60 feet frontage at a price of £5 10 shillings per foot frontage, subject to the necessary consents of the Parish Meeting, the Local Government Board and the Surrey County Council. The committee have instructed Mr Chart necessary plans and estimates in order to be in position to furnish the statement required by the Parish Council, and Mr G. Farewell Jones has been requested to act as solicitor for the council in the suggested purchase.
