G.W. Kerwood

301991 Sjt. G.W. Kerwood, 14th Bn.,
Tank Corps (Mitcham) (LG 5 Dec. 1918).

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty.
This non-commissioned officer fought his Tank with great dash, being responsible for the capture of a considerable part of an important village. He knocked out a number of machine guns by his gun fire, and when his ammunition was exhausted used his Tank as a battering ram, causing havoc to houses and walls and driving the enemy out in confusion. Though three of his crew were wounded, he kept his Tank in action over two hours.
