From the Mitcham Youth Handbook of 1949

STREATHAM AEROMODELLERS
This Club started in 1940 with two members and affiliated to the Society of Model Aeronautical Engineers in 1941. In 1942 it became affiliated to Mitcham Youth Council and met in Rowan Road School. After some post-war difficulties it was revived and now meets in London Road School. Outdoor flying meetings are also arranged and the Club takes part in district and National model flying competitions. Enquiries to Mr. M. Bell, 5 Mortimer Close, Streatham, S.W.16.
