The Bidder Memorial Fund Commitlee will soon see the results of their deliberations in shape. The oil painting for the Vestry Hall is ready, and awaiting a date to be fixed for its unveiling. In addition, a monument to be placed on Mitcham Common, and thie also will be ready in a few weeks. This, by the way, was a suggestion made by a correspondent in the Herald when Mr. Bidder died.

The Bidder Memorial — The second part of the Bidder Memorial has now been erected on the middle of Mitcham Common a few paces from the Croydon-road. It consists of a huge block of granite on a raised mound, surrounded by a light iron railing. The inscription on the stone is:—’ George Parker Bidder, erected by public subscription in remembrance of his efforts to preserve this Common, 1896.”
